security light flash Help
Ok I misplaced my set of keys while rebuilding my motor and was using my wife's keys... Well I found the keys and the car starts and runs but the security light is flashing. I thought I would try my wife's keys and now the same thing. Any ideas it seems to be running ok but I am going to get the car tuned tomorrow and don't want any issues.

I dont understand what your saying.
Security light can go on if its wrong key resister value on the chip. it can also go on if the ignition cylinder orange/white wire is broke or open. But if the security light flashes your car should not start unless it has been bypassed.

I have had the flowmasters since 2001. I changed out the factory radio in about 99... just to rule that out. Car start's fine and I have not done any work to it recently to cause this to come on. The only thing new to the equation is the key and I have always used it before I just misplaced it since I pulled the motor. Now it flashes regardless of which key is used.

i was just pulling your chain with the flowmaster comment
i just thought it was funny youre having security light issues and you listed off your mods.
Maybe whatever is in the ignition cylinder that reads the chip is going out?

I listed my mods because I am new to this site and haven't posted anything in my profile as far as car or mods. But thanks because I really thought you were a **** nut for thinking that. Now I do think it is pretty funny looking back.

You using the original key and it still flashes security light?
Make sure the key your using has the same resister value as the original key. Use this website for reference on resister value.

I agree but I am running low compression(9.1-1) I still expected to get into upper 300's. The motor is designed to run boost but I can't afford to go there now. Later maybe but I am still running stock rear and transmission. Plus there is a lot of little things I need to get in line first.
