I use the MSD 6AL

With a two step and their coil it is all you need. A friend and I have used them and no problems to ~22 psi.

The little extra at start for the al allows you to add the two or three step box and enables you to control your launch, and have excellent rev control at top as well.

Good luck

My box is not on my lt1, it's on my 13.5:1 BBC in a 61 BelAir......but I run the Mallory 685 and I love it. I was looking at the MSD Digital 6 before, but the Mallory has more features, is easier to use, and was much cheaper too. I've been running it for about 4 years with ZERO problems.

The MSD 6BTM is a great choice. It has a remote dial **** to control ignition timing retard per pound of boost. If you're starting to detonate, you can just dial it back a notch to stop the detonation. It also has rev limiter, and I think possibly a 2-step. Not sure about the 2 step though.
