The LT4 starter is actually cheaper than the LT1 hence why I bought one last week. I searched all around for the cheapest one and ended up paying $118 on Advance Auto Parts' website and shipping was free. I got $44 back when I dropped my core off, I believe Auto Zone has the same starter for the same price as well. Advance has a spend $100 get $50 back thing going on right now...

If you go to a parts counter somewhere just ask for a starter for a '96 Corvette Grand Sport.

If I still had a LT1 car, that would be the starter I'd get if I needed one.
