Need some help with this lt1

I just got a 1995 6 speed trans am with the lt1. I was driving home then started having a problem. If I go over 2000 rpms in my car my battery gage goes down to 0. If I throw it in neutral itll idle back up to normal. I can rev it as high as I want in neutal. Had the battery and altenator tested and just cannot figure it out. Any help would be awesome. Oh and btw it also will occasionally let me get in it without it happening.

Wow...that's really weird. lol. Can you observe more symptoms? I'm no expert but people definitely need more info to figure it out.

Nope I cant figure anything esle. I cant understand why it will let me rev it in neeutral as much as I want. Then why it will let me push it every now and then and most of the time not.

My alternator wouldn't charge above 2000 RPMs, it tested ok on the tester in the parts store. I bought a new one anyway and it fixed the problem.

Well I was just going to give the altenator a shot today but it didnt happen. Didnt even try to die once and I literally drove it around all day.

Well where im at lately we have been having about 100 degree days and 60 degree nights and it did it in both. I checked my grouunds and they were fine.
