Default Odometer Rollback?

First off if this is against the rules to ask about, I'm sorry in advance

I'm finishing my full build, and everything is brand spankin new. If I pull the dash cluster is it possible to roll back the mileage to 0 on a 93 z28?

Well the engine and trans have 0 miles. I'm going to be installing a gauge overlay and figured it would be nice to have the odometer reflect the actual mileage.

You do know rolling a odometer back is a FELONY. I am not sure this is something that is wise to be talking about on the internet.

the odometer does not show the mileage of the drivetrain. it shows the mileage of the vin number.

There's so much more to a car than the engine/tranny. Isn't the mileage stored in the PCM on the digital ones?

I would look up a used Instrument Panel with low miles, that way you dont have to worry about doing anything illegal or changing the odometer.

Its your car, do what you want.

Understand though, if anyone checks it, it will be instantly known.

Yeah I suppose it's more trouble than it's worth, I'll just take a video of the little bastard firing up for the first time and note the mileage
