Question what cam should I get?

I have a 94Z auto with a couple of parts laying around.
-52 TB, ram air box, edle shortys and cat back, 1.6 rockers, crank pulley, ported heads that flow 270cfm, and a hypertech program that is programed to my car but I've lost the programer box. What kind of power should I see at the wheels with the right cam. should I go solid or what do you guys think.

I'd go with the GM 847 cam. I've only heard good things about it. One dood is running 11's with it and slicks. Perfectly tuned it has cranked 400hp for more than one person and still retain streetability and that's at the wheels, man. It's not the usual hype cam, it takes no prisoners. And it's a GMPP.

go to www.combinationmotorsports.com they have quite a few custom ground XE CompCams. I've heard NOTHING but good things about them. Give'em a call, they know their stuff.

I would say that cam is the most popular with the M6 guys. But since you've got an auto that cam is going to be way too big. With your auto you're going to want to go with a cam no bigger than the TN-224XL and that might even be a little much with out a torque converter. You can definately use that cam, but it's not going to be a monster off of the line without a torque conver. Just a little 2800 stall would do the job. If you don't have a stall or aren't planning on getting one I would go with the TN-218XL, still a good cam, bigger than the CC305 and since it has a 112 LSA it will give you the nice lope. I'm no cam expert, but I've got an auto and have emailed Seth at Combination a few times. So all of the info above is just me repeating what he has told me.

I'm pulling the auto out and putting in a T56. I'm switching to a AFR 227 head and a powerdyne supercharger with a 8lbs of bost, Arizona speed 58mm mono blade TB, LT headers, LT4 intake, 383 stroker + spray. Would like to go with a solid cam.

Get your heads flowed and call Seth to order a custom grind. Don't waste your time trying to find the optimum off the shelf grind. The extra cost is well worth it.

Why? As good as hyd. roller cams have gotten, you must really enjoy adjusting valve lash.

Well a solid roller cam with good springs does allow for higher rpms and steeper ramps. If you dont mind adjusting the lash about every oil change.... who cares. It is a little more mainenence, but thats what separates the winners and the losers.
