3.42 or 3.73 ?
From what I've seen and heard, gaining half a second from a gear swap alone is uncommon. I wouldn't bet on that drastic of an increase in performance, even if you do have 2.73's.

I've got a 95z lt1 4l60e with 373 richmond gear.We run alot of 1/8th mile and im running a 9.06~9.18 depending on if the tranny shift's.when you change the gear make shure when they tune it the also do the tranny i got mine tuned but they did not reset the shift point's so it really has not helped me.I dynoed @ 263rwhp at 5275 rpm and 271tq at 4625 rpm.I'm average 14~16 in town 18~20 on highway and it it stock as far as the running gear.I had a set of 323's in it and was faster mph wise but slower et wise 9.35 @79mph.Mine turns 2700 @ 75mph with a 285/35/18 rear tire.I hope this help's you out
