Default gm lt4 intake limitations

at what power level does a PORTED gm lt4 intake become a limitation?

Not nearly enough information to give you a reasonable answer.

Also there is NO DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE from a ported LT1 manifold to a ported LT4 manifold.

Default lt4 manifold

sorry, but to build off of this topic, I could port my stock lt1 manifold and it would give me the same performance as a ported lt4 manifold? so there'd be no sense in buying the lt4 one if that was the intention?

Pretty sure that's what I just said...

Internally the LT4 and LT1 manifolds are identical, except the LT4 has a higher port to mate to the LT4 heads. This means nothing for performance.

It does NOT have higher ports, it is internally the same.

It has more material above the ports to seal to the LT4 head ports which are TALLER as opposed to moved up in the head as most descriptions imply.

That additional material above the port means you could make a bigger hole which in bench racing land is the only thing that matters, right?

i already have an lt4 intake. it came with my motor when i bought it. i knew internally they are the same but i figured maybe the lt4 had more meat in the right places that just might make it a little better when ported. what else do you need to know for a semi-accurate guess? its going back on my 396 and will most likely use afr heads of some kind with an m6.

Want to sell the intake if you dont need it?

Either way its the same for power levels and have the same amount of material for porting.

The only GM intake that is better than one another is the 93 LT1 intake, has more material to be taken out

93 Intake does not have more material to take out, its just casted much better. Better because the internal port floor and roof has a better angle of geometry when getting them to match the geometry/slope of the actual cylinder head intake ports. You probably have seen the post StealthFormula made about the epoxy/ported intake over the standard ported picking him up some et's and mph's. This is because I made the port dimensions much straighter into the cylinder head intake port by taking out the intake manifolds port roof hump/slope around the injector hole.

Also the 92-93's have no fuel rail crossover hump to cause a disruption in airflow, even though its been tested that it makes zero difference in power over a 94-97.
