You have obviously never driven one. Going from a gto to an f-body really shows how much of a shitbox f-bodies really are.

That's what everyone says when it comes to swinging from the nuts of a GTO. I don't care. I don't like them. I didn't buy my car for luxury. I knew the 4th gen was a parts bin pile, but it's my parts bin pile and I like my parts bin pile and there's nothing you can state to change my mind you GTO poser!
There have been multiple times I have mistaken one for a econo **** box from the outside. It baffles me how something with those dimensions can weigh as much as a small office building.

Yet the GTO is light by todays standards, has a much better engine, brakes, suspension, interior, ect than f-bodies.

I wouldn't put any money on it but considering the mods you have it'll probably be close.

Absolutely. The Pontiac Aztek is about the same curb weight and has more cargo room than a GTO. You should rock that, Walter.

Things come down to QUALITY of mods not just what is done.
The first year I had the 190cc heads and cam on my car I drove 150miles to GLD and repeatedly ran against the same EVO, he was running low 13s at like 102mpg with the boost cranked up to 23psi and a few other boltons and thought what he needed was slicks, that ET and mph slicks was the last thing he needed it was getting things done on the launch.

You run into someone who has a clue though and for the same amount of effort I bet that car would have run at least 12.5.

Hell there are guys with stroker LT1s in Impalas stuck in the 13s, yes they have the mods to go fast but made a lot of poor choices and missed the mark. Happens a LOT. Hell I have beaten multiple sprayed bolton LS1 f-bodies, that shouldn't be the case either.

You must not have any idea what kind of rear end f-bodies have.

Not sure on the first several claims, but on the Interior? Ya got me. Nice blue leather and color matching gauges.

I was thinking the same. It's a very stylish car, but I'm not sure if I want another extra 300lbs on top of my already heavy 3500lbs. Some these 4 bangers that race us from time to time weight below 2000lbs.

I also heard the LS2 was the worse engine out of all LSx engines.

I haven't heard anything bad about the LS2, 400hp gets the job done and I'm sure it's a just as or more capable motor than the LS1 arguabley, but I'm not certain. The one thing I do know is that even if it does have "better" brakes and motor it probably needs them to perform the same as a 4th gen, due to the extra weight.

a 700hp dumptruck can have a "better" engine than my car all day long, but that doesn't make it faster.

I'd say you're going to lose... A gsx with 290whp is a lot lighter than an F-body and probably has better gearing and just boltons you might have 290whp, but that's a stretch.

Good luck though and let us know already!

Its impossible to tell without knowing whats going on with his tune. He can be making anything between 250AWHP to upwards of 350AWHP, even more if he's put cams in it (stupid easy on that car), and if its an EVO 9 even MORE potential. Just saying its a bolt on car doesnt mean **** in the turbo world, key thing is to also ask if its tuned. Ask dyno numbers and ask what kind of dyno it is, that makes a huge difference. My car makes about 270AWHP on a stupid low reading Dyno Dynamics, out E/T'd and matched mile an hour (also had to shift to 5th while he only had to shift to 4th) with my buddies cammed EVO which was making about 330AWHP on a dynojet. I like my dyno numbers because most people dont think to ask what kind of dyno it was on.

See if he can drive as well, it might benefit you to go from a dig. EVO drivetrains are garbage and break often when launched hard, plus its a bit tricky getting the launch down in an AWD, i personally have no problems with it but i've seen many that do. Unfortunately though i dont think its going to go well for you, sounds like he's pushing some decent power

I'd have to agree here, start from a roll. That GSX is gonna have a lot better traction out of the hole if you start from a dig. I used to have a 96 Eclipse GS and that little sucker was quick. It was taking Mustang GTs off the line with nothing but a cold air intake and an MSD ignition box. They'd catch up pretty quick, but I had them for the first eighth of a mile or so. I can only imagine what an all wheel drive GSX with full bolt ons would be able to do.

Just race him out of an abonded jail courtyard, he'll most likely lose control, fly off course, and hit a huge slab of cemet and destroy his car. I've seen it before...

anybody anybody?
