4l60 which was the new name for 700r4.
You either have 273s or 323s. Gu2 means 273 and gu3 means 323 if I remember correctly. Look for the code on your glove box door.

93s got the 4L60 (sans E), same as the 700R4.

GU2 : AXLE REAR, 2.73 RATIO

GU4 : AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO (V6)

GU5 : AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO

GU6 : AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO

According to what I have read on other boards from transmission rebuilders/vendors, the 700R4 and 4L60 are not exactly alike with regard to all internals, but very similar.

Get the 600 hp first, then get back to the tranny. And if you want 600 hp get prepared to yank the engine out for a rebuild because there's no way the stock bottom end will survive.

Yea I was planning on that and throwing a yank in. I hear a rattle from near the tranny but it might be that the torque arm mount is broke could that be a reason? It almost sounds like the tranny goin out or the drive line shaking. Don't wanna have to switch the tranny. For a cheap part. Thanks for all the help.
