let the madness begin
93 purple pearl metallic TA, hardtop, auto, leather, completely untouched. I'm buying from the original owner and its got 107k mi, been parked for the last several years. Besides a dime-sized tear in the driver's seat bolster, the interior is immaculate and smells new. The exterior has a ton of sun damage and a cracked fender but the seller is giving me a new GM replacement for free. Taillights are delaminating so replacing them and a repaint are first on the list.
So I'm assuming if the opti is going good w no misses, I should leave it alone...? Would a Seabreeze, plug, wire, oil, and filter swap be good?
Also, what's the best way to clean the engine compartment without messing up the opti?
Ill post pics tomorrow
I wouldn't mess with the opti until it goes bad.
I would personally change the belt if it's been sitting a really long time. If it goes it can take hoses with it.
You could cover the opti in a plastic bag and spray it down, or just get some good degreaser and coat it down and go to town scrubbing, elbow grease and time has worked the best for me.
Tire shine works good on the black rubber or plastic pieces.
Have fun with plugs and wires =)

Plugs and wires is a good idea, mine ran so much better after I did mine. In my thread about seafoaming people suggested to do seafoam BEFORE changing the plugs. Shame I already changed my plugs, otherwise I'd take that advice.

Bad part is there seems to be a broken exhaust manifold bolt and there's a loud whisp/tick sound that goes away once the engine warms up so I'm assuming the gasket is still ok... Just gotta get that bolt out...
