Default Suggestions on the build

Well went and got my bearing took off my carrier for the ole 10 bolt and guess my pops has connections from when he used to race with this guy and we started talking when i seen a 383 LT1 on the stand.

Guess he has a 355 block and a set of heads and seems like he will give me a real good deal on them (just about give them away) but this would probably be a stock bottom end other then the pistons of course. But cam only and have my heads ported and polished but the cam is where I am stuck........I know there are cam post every where but I don't want specs and stuff i want real life experience people have had. would be building a 8.5 or 8.8 for it and looking for it to be my DD. So what do you guys think? im shooting for low 12's or high 11's.

Sounds good a 355 with forged pistons and rods with ARP studs everywhere with ported heads from LE or AI and a matching cam from either and you're there easy.
