Default Impala SS headers?

I looked through Summit and could not find any long tubes for the B-body LT1, and most sites had oval ports in 1 5/8" and usually were mid-length headers.

What headers are you B-body guys running?

I found a thread where someone tried out the F-body LT1 Pacesetters and they worked with some massaging of the frame and grinding off the ear on the transmission.

Your input would be helpful.

I have the Clear Image 1 3/4'" Race headers and off road pipes on our 96 Impala SS. The fit and performance are amazing. We picked up 30 RWHP over the AS&M shorties. These headers are not cheap though. Here is a link to the ones I am using.

If you are looking for a good shorty headers, I have installed a couple sets of the Edelbrock headers. They fit great and are stainless.

I am just wondering, why the heck are headers so expensive for an Impala?

Maybe I am better off dropping an LT1 into an 80's Caprice, see a few around with TH400 transmissions already sitting on the crossmember.

Not a big demand for them unlike the camaro and ta's. Very few b-body guys mod their car's.
