Default Clutch

Ok, so i bought a new car about 2 months ago and it has a "new" clutch (i saw the reciepts)

So when i gun it around 2k rpm the rpms jump and i can feel the clutch spinning and it will catch later. It just starting doing this and its driving me crazy.

Does that mean my clutch is bad and needs to be replaced, or a friction plate or what? I dont spend alot of time dealing with clutches.

Any ideas?

not neccesarily a bad clutch, but possibly a bad instal. you need to get all oily residue off the flywheel when installing a new clutch or it will spin easily. You always need to clean the flywheel off with Brake cleaner(or equivelant) to get all oily substances/residue from your hands and arms off the flywheel before putting the pad and pressure plate on...its critical on higher power applications. Its possible that somebody didnt clean the flywheel properly or possibly didnt tighten down the pressure plate properly creating an un-evenly pressured surface where the pad might not be making equal pressure completely along the surface of the flywheel. Could be any number of things, but one thing is for sure....If you keep spinning the clutch up without taking care of the problem, you will be forced to purchase a new one VERY soon.
