Help help help!!!!

ok guys, im reinstalling the crank hub. i got the crank hub on. heres the problem i put the bolt in,with the washer of course, and it tightens but then gets loose then tightens again then gets loose again. i first thought that i may have stripped the crank but when i pulled the crank hub bolt out all the threads were fine. there were no metal shavings or pieces of thread at all. whats going on? all it does is gets tight then gets loose i cant tourqe it? PLEASE HELP. Thanks in advance

Sounds like one of two things. Not on far enough or stripped.

Are you using a grade 8 or higher bolt and is the bolt longer than the stock one if not, just head down to your local autoparts and rent a hub installer
