Default inline fuel pump

I had a brian storm for the guys who Daily drive there camaros that have there fuel pump going south. It seems most of the time its the check valve inside the pump that goes. I know some guys would rather drop the rear then do the trap door. I was wondering if for guys that wanted to buy some time if putting in a inline pump or a auxiliary check valve would work. Just a brain storm as either one of them are straight forward installs.

where would you put an inline pump on a car that already sits low to the ground and has a unibody?

You can't just hook up an inline pump if the in-tank pump is dead. So either way the tank will have to be dropped or the hatch cut.

Just cut a trap door and be done with it. That's what I did.

I know that. I was just saying in the case of the check valve going. From what I understand the valve just prevents fuel from flowing backwards

The check valve is integral to the pump. If the valve fails, the pump needs to be replaced.
