Oil Pan Removal
Oil Pan Removal My oil pan looks like it has been jacked up on by the previous owner. 
I was wondering how easy it is to swap out the oil pan when the transmission is out of the car. Does the motor have to be lifted or can the oil pan be slid out the back without raising it up?

It isn't out yet. I am just trying to plan ahead. The car will be getting a new clutch this summer... I was just wondering if then would be a good time or if it is just as hard without the trans in as it is with it out.

with an M6 its more difficult with the trans in the car. Do it when its out.
Maybe if you were a little more clear in your first post we wouldnt have assumed it wasnt out already, just sayin.....
