Default So I can stop an argument me and pops are having

I got the roller rockers in the mail today and my dad keeps telling me if I get stock length pushrods I will bend them NO MATTER what because geometry changes.

Everyone on here who has untouched heads and 1.7s says they used the 7.2 push rod length some please in

BOLD AND HUGE FONT

Answer the question.

If everything is stock the size should be close on most engines but as someone told me you always messure to double check. You never know.

x2^^ It would be a good idea to check the length just to be sure.

There's a 99% chance 7.20" pushrods will be fine. And even if they were too long or short, say by .05", you won't bend them.

changing valve stem length, valve job, cutting the heads, lifter type, camshaft type, cutting the block, and head gasket thickness can all change the pushrod length.

adding rockers doesnt change the geometry. 7.2 will work provided nothing else has been cut down or worked on by the previous owner like mentioned above

I can't count on my hands and feet how many times he says it changed Geometry but he is stuck on the Big block days and thinks his 12.6 in a big block is impressive and for what he had done in all reality was pretty impressive but the argument got pretty heated so I just need to vent really

No way to work tomorrow either FML

I run 7.2's with 1.7's. Haven't touched them since I put them on 3 years ago.

i feel your pain. My dad is very much into backyard mechanics and i am slowly getting my certifications for everything which pisses him off because i do things the way i learned and that is the wrong way to him. Just do what you planned to do and prove him wrong, once he sees the finished product how can he dispute it?
