The stock muffler on my 95 Formula LT1 is just too quiet for my tastes; especially at idle. The car has the stock manifolds, converter, and emissions.I'd like to change out just the muffler because the previous owner just installed a new exhaust. Many people seem to recommend magnaflow, but it seems almost quieter at idle than stock. I have been researching the Hooker Areoflow and the Flowtech Afterburner. I really like the sound of the Flowtech, but have found very few opinions or sound clips about it.The only problem I have with the Hooker is that it seems to have noticeable rasp when decelerating, but this may be due to the fact the almost all the videos I've found of it have gutted cats and headers. Does anyone have a factory exhaust with the Hooker or Flowtech?

hooker aero chamber sounds good, my brother had a spintech muffler on his t/a which sounded really good. id honestly just dish out the extra cash and get a complete catback trust me on this. your going to do it eventually anyways and buying just a muffler is waste of money in my opinion.

Been, I have the hooker on my 95 ta with factory manifolds and cats and it sounds really good. Its kinda quiet at idle, though way louder than stock. Under moderate accel its got a nice smooth tone and not over bearing. Under wot its far louder than stock, but does have the traditional lt1 rasp and pop on loaded decel. Its a great sounding muffler for someone that isn't after super loud and aggresive, but still authoritive enough to know its not stock. Its the way it should have came stock.

I've had a decent amount of exhausts on my car
-Dynomax Muffler
-SLP Loudmouth
-Magnaflow Catback
-Hooker Catback
-2.5" h-pipe duals with bullets
-2.5" h-pipe duals with 1 chambers
-Midlength headers
-Long tubes
The magnaflow was actually louder than the Hooker that I have. Tone is all up to the person listening on which is better.

liked the sound alot, didn't like the ground clearance though. I ran cheap flowsound 1 chambers (flowmaster 10 series knockoffs) for rlike $20 a piece I think.
here's a idle/rev video for you, crappy camera though but you get the idea

nah stock ride height, could've been a problem because the system wasn't built around those mufflers. the duals were constructed using bullets, then swapped for the 1 chambers at a later date. a system built specifically for the 1 chambers would probably have better ground clearance.
