Default lt1 exaust

I was wondering what would be better true duals with a h pipe or a y pipe to single.exhausted I'm planning on 355 kbuild DD

There is no right answer. You're going to hear people prefer both. It boils down to what your plans are and what you want. There are a lot of cars making a lot of horsepower with trual duals, likewise with the y. Like I said there is no right answer to your question as to which is better.

My plan is longtube headers through an off-road y pipe through factory catback with a cutout. That way for daily to work and back stuff I have the convenience of a nice quiet car that my neighbors don't hate and when I want to race I flip a switch and open the cutout and poof free flowing exhaust.

loved the way my old duals with h-pipe sounded.

volume, gas stench, and ground clearance made me get tired of it though and I went back to a y-pipe setup. duals are cool for weekend cars and track cars, but for a DD I wouldn't recommend them.

I have true duals. I gained around .5-1mph over an open y pipe in the same DA.

I would prefer as much stock as I could. I hate dealing with aftermarket exhausts. They are the biggest pain in the ***. I'd rather do a cam swap than exhaust work.
