LT1-LT4 Swap problems.

LT1-LT4 Swap problems. Hey guys.
I recently bought a 1996 TA knowing nothing about it. Come to find out while putting new header gaskets on, I realized it has the LT4 heads. Traced it back to the original owner and yes, it has the swap. Awesome right? Wrong. For some reason while cruising down the interstate the check engine light comes on. Happens in the city as well, but not as much. I have noticed though when you give it gas in a low RPM it bogs out. Then it acts like it redlines at around 5200. I've taken it to several places and they just can't figure anything out.
