What is available, and if you could give me some costs also, to to do data logging on OBD1 cars like I use A-tap for OBD2 cars. The cheaper the better. I'm a little green in this area as I never owned a OBD1 car. Thanks.

All you need's a scanmaster. $200-250 unit.

Is that the cheapest thing out there? Is that a stand alone or do you need a lap top?

not sure if it is the cheapest but it is stand alone and can be very usefull.

If you have a laptop there's TTS Datamaster, which is a great program too. Very thorough, and a lot of neat features.

It's free for the first 20 logs, and you have to pay something like $100 or so for unlimited use thereafter. It's a great program.
