Dif between optispark n disturb
The optispark is the name of the LT1 specific style distributor. A traditional small block chevy distributor will not work on an LT1 motor without extensive modification.
The optispark is located on the front of the LT1 motor, underneath/behind the water pump and above/behind the crank hub. A traditional style distributor would be behind the intake on top of the motor. MSD makes versions of both styles, however.
