Sorry to dig up this thread! but i need to know how the job finished out. 
I have a fully built 383 with a "break in" set of springs - they have seen a few thousand miles, and now i need to do this EXACT swap. I literally have all of the tools, including the crane double spring compressor (this thing is hard to come by) and the height micrometer. I have the patriot springs also recommended by lloyd, and the shim set.
Any insight before i dive in in a few weeks?
How was the rocker "Zero lash" setup?
