Good choice IMO about getting an LT1 4th gen. And welcome! more info on the car? what trans, miles, mods?

If its bone stock youll see good gains with:

Cai

Full Exhaust
Tune

56K miles huh what a find lol

stall and gears first so you can see how much each mod helps that and some sticky tires then of course the intake and exhaust set up

Go bigger on the converter. 3000 is way better than stock, but 6 months after you get it you'll wish you went higher. Those Yank and Vigilante converters don't drive "loose", even though the stall speeds are relatively high. They still behave like a stock stall when you are just cruising. A stock LT1 motor makes its peak hp over 5000rpm.

pacesetter long tube headers, off road x-pipe, dumps.

for the stall something around 3400-3600 should be good paired with some 3.73 gears out back.

Good idea gears and a shift kit and tune you should be set for some 12 second passes if your DA is good.

Lot's of people on here do mail order with good results... I did a dyno tune and the guy did a **** job. As I later found out the guy is a ls tuner and lt1 are a different animal. I just got a cable and down loaded the software to look at it myself but there is a lot involved and a lot to learn. I would probably do mail order and go through pcmforless. That is just from what I have read on here though!

Out of those 3, I'd go with the rr's (along with some good springs). The cam would give you more, but it requires more work and more money. If you can squeeze it in, do both. RR's are usually part of a cam swap anyway.

I wouldn't mess with my intake if I were you. It is more than capable of feeding your lt1 and no porting of it is needed until you have done head work.

The best way of figuring it out is to ask, how much money do you have?

you mean "money isn't an issue"

and if that was the case, you;d just go out and buy a Viper ACR or something...

My suggestion is to take it to a speed shop, let them know you have unlimited money and tell them you want to see low 9's...

path of least resistance..
