Bolt-On Street Build
Okay so i recently bought this car to start a new build. My plans are to do this car in stages. First stage is full bolt on full interior and drag radial.
The car is a 96 Z28 with A4 and 72k miles. It has factory 3.73s, Ive installed/replaced new water pump (autozone), MSD Opti, MSD wires, K&N Intake, trickflow elbow, MAF, and a Magnaflow catback.
Im looking into getting some wheels for the car for when i bring it to the track. Thinking about Weld Prostar wheels. Anybody running these 15" by 10" in the rear with a MT ET street?? I want small and wide as wheel as possible, but for now i gotta run a DOT tire.
Open to any suggestions...here's some pics and ill be going to testntune wednesday for a base line.
thanks

Yeah i have pace setter long tube headers with ORY. I just have to put them on....
Im just thinking ahead right now....cause i came across a really good deal on some Weld Prostar 4.5" front and 10" rears.
Oh and i got the car from a older guy who was the original owner. He knew everything about the car and told me he ordered it from the factory with optional 3.73's. The car has every option imaginable soo i kinda took his word for it.
Is that an option that wasnt offered??

3.73s never came from the factory installed, its not to say a dealership or a speed shop didnt install them before delivery. With the right amount of cash, a dealer can do whatever to your car...
As far as wheels go, I ran 15x3.5 Weld Pro Stars and 15x10 in the rear with 275/60r15 nitto drag radials. Had to do some *minor* grinding of the calipers, nothing longer than 20 mins for all 4 and they fit perfect.
Here is a pic of my Camaro when I ran the ProStars, I had Eibach 2 inch rear lowering springs on the rear and stock in the front for a even ride height (although the gap in the front was larger, it was even all the way around) and I had rolled rear fender lips. (Not needed if the car isnt lowered as I ran it both ways, just thought Id throw it out there)

Thanks for the input guys!!
Yeah he prob had GM gears installed...but besides that it has every option and is spotless. When I go to the track I'll post my times and tell mr what y'all think.
Thanks for the wheel advice...I'm going to go ahead and buy them.

There's always someone faster....but I'm actually going to run the LTX stock class. So for now it's going to be a bolt street car. It's not a daily driver...just keeping it a street car for the class I'm running. I'm also working on another motor...but I still wanna race till it's done.
BTW I have a LS1 too...

FWIW...I had a LS1 Trans Am convertible and my LT1 Camaro at the same time...I still have my Camaro. Love the way it pulls hard off the line, something my LS1 didnt or at least felt like

i hear that man! its gonna be a struggle for me financially as i am still in school and unemployed at the moment but im hoping it all works out. im gonna beg, borrow, and steal to get out there with the best setup possible. ur car is a great car for this class im sure u will be right up there in the running.
i wouldnt say it so rudely but i would also have to disagree, i have put a hurtin on some bolt on only ls1 guys feelings quite often b4
