Default 1996 SS project...It lives...With Vid.

Well I had a wanted add on here looking for a car and ended up finding one outside of the forum. I went and got the car two weekends ago and half way home a rod started knocking in the car. The car has 60,000 miles and is in great shape inside and out. The guy I bought it from offered to buy it back but I decided to keep it because of it rarity and condition. He then offered to send me some money back and did so. NICE GUY. So... now I am in the middle of pulling the motor to fix it buy making it a stroker. I will start posting pics as I tear into it and rebuild. I have a friend that is also on this forum 96lt4c4 that is helping me with the entire project. Wish me luck as I learn about LT1's the hard way.

Are you typing from experience? Assuming someone who is not familiar with working on LT1's failing is a pretty dumb thing to say. Anyone with a basic understanding and/or does their homework can do this.

Yes that was kind of my point is if you don't know the little things like I didn't about the thread sealant on the head bolts then yes Like I am about to do You will be doing it again. Just saying.. If you have a question even a dumb one post it up or search for it Original Poster because I like others have made little over sights thinking these engines are the same as gen ones and they are not. It's all about the deatails SS RRR, you know that and as I have learned in my original rookieness It's better to figure it out before hand.

I don't know if you have heard, but take the opti rotor screws out and loctite them, they only come with blue on some of them and mine didn't have anything on it.
