7qt pans..
It's the same pump but it has a square pickup that sits directly under the pump and wont clear my stock pan, I'll have to double check my other pan when i get home but im pretty sure it would clear.
my Canton pan is much better than the stock one is every way. Thicker mounting flange,Thicker metal. Trap door system inside to keep oil in the pickup area under hard launches and harder cornering. The MOROSO,and CANTON pans are very similar, there is also a milidon unit that works good but its nowhere near as nice fitment wise nor does it have trap door feature.
OK so i just got the pan off my 383 and noticed both engines are now using Melling oil pumps but two different pickups... the 383 has one that is square shaped and kinda towards the front of the engine and the 350 has more of a rectangle and sits right under the pump.. Hope that makes sense, i'm trying to find the pickups now, any help would be great.
Ok well it's easy to see my pickup wont work with a stock pan do to how low it sits, what are you guys running for a pickup on a Melling oil pump with a stock pan??

you run a stock pick up with a stock pan, the other pick ups you are talking about sound like aftermarket ones for aftermarket pan. the canton pick up is rectangle and sits under the pump.

Whenever changing up pans you always want to use a pickup that is made for the pan.
What does that have to do with what i said?
I was talking about a canton pick up For a canton pan, stock pan/stock pick up...... he was discrbing pick ups he was trying

Lol calm down guys, i guess i will be cuting the weld off the pump i just got that holds the pick up on and swaping my stock pick up over and adding another tack to ensure it stays on, thanks guys!
