Default WOT timing advance cam only

How much timing are you cam only guys running? I keep pulling timing off my mail tune and Im at 28-30ish now. Is it normal to have it that low??

I believe it's coming from the 4000rpm area and lingering so nice I get it to finally be zero I'll start adding timing to the higher rpms and work my way down.

Either way, it just seems really low to me.

35-36, you need to tune out the false knock so you can run the timing it wants.

I don't think it's false knock as it's lowered and the knock counts don't change. It's just partial throttle knock and the PCM keeping it up through the pull to be safe.... I think. We'll see. Trying to make it to the track friday.

try dropping it to like 22-23 and add a bunch of fuel.

Is that for the whole RPM range or just the top?

I'm commanding 35-36 above 6k rpm, but below it's going as low as 28 around 3-4k.

And actual advance is a few higher (not when knocking tho).

I've richened up the lower RPMs to try to cool it a bit and pulled a bit more. I'm still getting partial throttle knock and it's driving me nuts. It's almost worse now!

Quiet Mr. 400whp. My track times may be better, but all you gotta do is run me on the street and I stand no chance.... of course with my new B.A. tune who knows. Maybe I'll see some respectable traps! I'm not holding my breath...

Maybe I'll just do some more bolt ons, 4.10s and a 4k stall and have a legit cam only setup. I just today realized I only have a piddly stall, full exhaust and a cam as my only real mods.
