i dont think anything is made in America anymore lol.. the ohio crank stuff gets a final polish on there cranks here and they call it machined in America.. what a joke.

Even if I was just rebuilding the motor and HAD to replace the crank with a cast piece I would have i deep cryo'd.

Cast stuff should always be deep cryo'd before used. even a set of stock rods can handle much more abuse if done.

Ha, maybe someone should have their entire rotating assembly deep cryo'd and go for the stock block record. lol

cryo'ing gears also help keep the pinion gear from breaking a bunch of teeth off.

I went with a forged eagle 383 kit so that in the future i can throw a better set of heads on and be able to handle up to 700hp without a problem. It made sense to do it right once considering all the money i was spending on machining.

i had a eagle crank in my 76 chevy k10. It tossed a rod doin 40 in 4th, busted my cam in 4 pieces, put a hol in my oil pan and tore out 2 piston skirts, the crank? Not a scratch. but this was in like a 250hp, if iwas lucky, engine. Id use another one for a rebuild...and probably new rods would be a wise choice too.......live and learn

that's not a parts problem, that's an assembly/machine work problem.

i dunno, they all plasti gauged in spec, the rod bolts were still securly attatched, tho in a few pieces. i just dont think it liked 6000rpm in a 5000lb truck....
