Default Alternator re-location

Lost my AC awhile back when I rebuilt the top end of my engine. I'm looking to loose my power steering now and that massive bracket on the side of the motor. I see several sponsors on here sell an alternator relocation setup that consists of a bracket, bolts, and spacers. I'm not attempting to knock them in any way but isn't there a cheaper way to go about running just an alternator?

I've seen people ditch the AC and put the alternator in place of the compressor on the bracket.

They also cut the top part of the bracket off. I'm not sure what fabbing is required to get the alternator to fit in place of the AC if any.

I've seen that as well, ideally I would like to loose that monsterous bracket on the side of the motor there as well. I've been contacted by a member here who is offering to sell me their alternator relocation kit as a nice savings. Thank you to all who answered.

I'm the one who did it. It does take some fab work to do it though.

What does that mean? You can't put that up without some details. I'm still running the stock salad shooters for right now but will be tearing the car down soon for the slicks/skinnies treatment. It's not like I drive this car all over creation anyway so a few hard turns here and there aren't too terrible I would imagine.

you wont be able to turn worth a damn if u keep stock sized tires on it and dd it but if ur going with skinnies up front and making it a weekend warrior/drag car ive heard its not too bad.

Yes it does. We also offer a manual rack and pinion that's set up for the stock location. It comes with the correct steering shaft.
