Block Drain Plug
Block Drain Plug Can someone please help, i was able to get my knock sensor off to drain the block, im just have a real hard time getting the damn plug out on the other side, 9/16 seems to fit best but it keeps stripping it. Im using a wobble extension which i searched and found it was best. Really need to spray some fogging oil in my cylinders to prevent rust from the bad headgasket
Don't waist your time. Just drill the bitch they never come out because they are some type of brass or something. Because they didn't want to use steel since they thought it would rust for some reason they decided to use brass and let electrolysis cement them in the block for us. Mine has only been in for 3k miles and is stuck and now rounded it's self off. I just pulled the head while it was on the engine stand and rolled it sideways to dump the water.

If it's rounded it's rounded, you either have to get some sort of quick fix socket as stated, drill it out as stated , or just leave it. Are you trying it with a 6pt or 12 pt socket? do you have a set of racheting wrenches? if not get em their worth every penny. blue-point sells a funny looking set of pliars that will not round anything, look around for them, if you can get them on it it will grip it! good luck.

You forgot PB blaster and VISE GRIPS. channel locks will slip off or make it worse since they dont lock. Or at auto parts store get a reverse socket for stripped bolt heads. should be like 12 buck or so. I have a set of Snap-on reverse that i use for ford water pumps and intakes and they work great
