Default Will this starter work?

I am looking for a better than stock starter for my 355 motor; mine recently broke. Will this one work and clear my mid length headers? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-S...item2310225d28 or this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBC-B...item2eb49b18c3

It looks alot like my Jegs starter. I had a grind some of the corners off to make it fit.

Those seem awfuly inexpensive for a high performance starter. I consider this an area where you get what you pay for. A decent "proper" mini starter should run you around 200 bucks. I'll suspect any brand new starter for 70 bucks especially off eekbay.

I'd advise you to look at a brand at Summet or Jegs and have them tell you if it'll fit. If there are any issues, it would be easy to return them.

OK I see I am going to go with the starter from Db electrical, because my starter came from Db and should be warranted; mine was just the stock replacement not the corvette unit.

OK.

HMMM. Their ebay ad is for a new item but the details says it's re-manufactured.

I bought a cheapy off ebay a few years ago. Connectors broke and such and I had to solder things back together and such. It has worked on a couple of engines since, currently on a wagon because I put a stock one back on the performance car.

You want better than stock you are going to spend a lot, the stock one is great.

Yes but the stock corvette starter is better and will not run me too much more.
