Default Code 36 help

My buddy keeps getting code 36. We took the car out for a drive and after 1 mile the car started to miss the fans came on, so we got it scanned and code 36 came up. This is his second opti with the code 36. We checked the harness with a ohm meter and it reads fine. What do you gut think it is?

Is the opti brand new? This code screams opti everytime. Check your connections.

Check your opti harness they have a tendency to have corrosion inside them causing issues and needs cleaning or new opti harness. If that isnt the case then you must have a short or pinched wire that could be frying your leading to the issue of getting the code 36. You'll have to track it down and figure whats causing if thats the case.
