newbie lt1 owner question Yes i've done alot of searching but i just want to ask, can all of this be related to air in the cooling system? Temp not getting hot (according to the gauge) temp drops while driving (significantly) Here is the possibly dumb one, intake manifold is significantly hotter after engine is off then when running.
I think air may be causing the temp gauge to not read right. It is getting flushed and properly bleed tomorrow but i just need to make it home. Even if there is air in the system the gauge should spike enough to let me know to pull over right? Dont want to over heat it

When mine got close to overheating I could hear the coolant in the radiator boiling and steaming through the overflow res. It's pretty normal for the temp to drop significantly while driving and come up while sitting at least on my car it is. On the stock tune these cars run warm in comparison to other cars. IIRC the low speed fan doesn't even kick on until like 220 degrees.
