Thats the market, i dont want to pay 10K for a LS1 with decent mileage, But most people will.

I paid $4,000 for my 98z and $4600 for my 99SS

So i honestly dont see how many of these lt1's sell for more then 3k but as you said jaycenk, stupid people.

not that it would change my mind but i bet the abs inop was due to the low battery, IIRC i've had to jump my car before and the ABS inop comes on due to lack of juice to start the ABS system, i bet it would have gone off if i had taken the time to restart it.

I could see that but abs is an on off system most of the time unless something is wrong. It is either fine and the light is out or something is a miss and the light is on. Did the batt have a dead cell or something?

Yea I had to go through this with the Tahoe I bought last year. It's a 98 2wd 4 door **** repaint, 150k on it engine and trans all original except for warrenty cylinder head replacement by GM, with good over all interior but I was in such a pinch to find something cash since the lease on my tundra was up in under a month and I didn't want payments anymore. I ended up paying like $4900 for it and I thought it was a 2500 to 3000 dollar truck all day long but at the time cash for clunkers was a HUGE excusse for most people and dealers/resellers to jack the price up and they were getting those prices for everything. Now they are back down to the 2500 to 3000 price where they belong and even 4wd modles. I had been looking for months (6) to find something and I never found anything. I was so sick and tired at that point I just bit the bullet and talked a used car lot into giving it to me for $4900. It ran like **** but I could tell it just needed a tune up and all fluids changed so now it runs like a top.

we had to jump start it. it had not been driven in 2-3 weeks.

FWIW on the ABS i used to have weird ABS issues where my low trac would come on for no reason (like going 5mph on dry pavement and applying the brakes to stop) and after doing that and having the brake pedal get really stiff 3 times the ABS inop would come on. once i got that problem fixed (new rotors and pads cured it) the only time i've ever seen the abs inop light was when my battery was low (not necessarily requiring a jump start but with a slow crank) and it would come on solid right away like that one did. if i let the car run for a minute or so, shut it off and restarted it, the abs light would go away and the system would be fine. thats why i always figured that it took more juice to run the abs than to start the car. I had a bad battery for 2-3 years without knowing it. i replaced a battery in 2005 or so and if i let the car sit for more than 3 days it wouldn't start. i once replaced the alternator and that didn't fix it so i thought it was my aftermarket alarm draining the battery, then i removed that once the remotes started going bad, finally i replaced the battery just because the warrenty was getting ready to expire and i figured maybe it was the actual cause. i was right, lol. my now 3 year old battery cranks the car up every time. i left my car in the garage for 10 days a few weeks ago while i was out of town and when i got back, i cranked it and it fired right up.

Idk I wouldn't buy that. I just got a 95 TA 6 speed car with 1 owner and 70k for $5000. Only issue mine has is some rust in the rear inner fender area. I will be fixing that ASAP and driving the wheels off it.

That rusty POS is worth $1500-$2000 max....no way in hell I'd pay 3k for a rust bucket riddled with issues, WS6 or not.
