Rear end q?? 26041414 gm d1 ??is that the rite numbering for a 96 ss?
What does the d 1 means??
i thinking this rear end is not the original one cuz it has markings on it ??

Your most always going to find some casting numbers indicating various things (like dates and production shifts, sometimes part numbers[but not always] etc.). The paint markings are also commonly factory done to indicate completion of an assembly process.
