Default No coil voltage

1997 my old T/A
The car just dies and cuts out at any time. Some times it will die and start right back up then other times you have to wait 10 to 15 min. When it will not start it has no 12V to the coil. Is there a relay for the coil? How can i see if this wire has a short?

Also i dont know if it has anything to do with this problem but the tach will quit working at random.

No help? Does the pink wire run strait from the ignition switch to the coil for the 12v?

If you have no voltage at the pink wire, you will not have a functioning ignition.

There is no relay in the circuit but it is switched through the ignition switch located on the steering column. It sounds to me that your ignition switch is becoming intermittent. The power comes from the switch when in run or start. It feeds several fuses under the hood, one of which is your pink ignition wire.

I hope this helps.
