Just recently replaced the clutch in my 95 T/A and now it cranks over for about 5-10 seconds before it starts on a hot start however cold start it cranks over first time.

Im completely stumped on what this could be. Any help?

check your fuel pressure. I had a similar issue and there are two ways to check either get a fuel pressure checker, or you can try cycling the key on and then off and then back on and then try to start which would prime the fuel system.. If this works and the car starts it would be your fuel system is not holding pressure when the car is off and most likely it is caused by fuel pressure check valve which is in the fuel pump. Replacing the fuel pump will fix this problem..

How long is your fuel pump priming before you turn the key? Cold starts, most people allow the pump to fully prime. Hot starts are normally just jump in and twist the key and expect it to turn over.

I usually always let the fuel pump prime when starting, especially on cold starts. Hot start really varies, either way though it still cranks for a few before starting.

If it is the fuel pump, is there any way I can put in an inline booster bump or will that be to much fuel?
