Default Rough running, down on power.

Okay guys, heres one for you.

Swapped out the Optispark last night because of a code and a bad misfire, and it seems to run better. We also put in an Energy Suspension Poly trans mount.

Fast forward to today. I'm driving around, and I notice that the car is WAY down on power. It just seems like its ******* down when you go WOT. I noticed that at idle, the car vibrates quite a bit more, which I THOUGHT was due to the Poly trans mount. When you get on it pretty good, the vibration increases a bit and continues throughout the RPM range. I thought this was a bit odd, considering when it was running good before (prior to an opti-swap and trans bushing) and would smooth out quite a bit when you are WOT or revving the engine, It may be something else.

I got a SES light that came on when I was idling in a parking lot today, but after shutting down the car, it went away and didnt come back.

I'm thinking we got the firing order screwed up somehow..... but I'm not sure. Does that sound plausable? The car has a cam, so at idle its not really noticable if the order was off, but considering the vibration and lack of power when you put the pedal down, it seems like that may be it. any ideas?

That'd be the easiest place to start. Not that hard to screw up the firing order. Make sure everyboot clicks on the plugs and opti. When i put new msd wires on mine, I HAD to put lithium grease on everything to make them go on all the way

We are going to check it out tommorow. I think that its possible we messed it up, considering the contortions we had to go through to tie up the wires in the first place.

Since this is my first F-body I have to ask..... will the car still run "ok" with a couple of wires reversed? I mean, its way down on power and shakes, but otherwise, it starts okay and doesnt hesitate from a stop.

check out the link.. if orders are fine, then its got to be a burnt or faulty plug wire

check your wires just incase one got nipped by the exhaust or belt, make sure they are on the opti and plugs all the way and make sure your vacuum line for the opti is hooked up. just start with the basics and narrow it down
