Shaking
Does it only vibrate at certain speeds?
If at those speeds and the car put into neutral does the vibration go away? If yes, then then it is most likely engine related. If no, then it's chassis related.
Does it only vibrate when applying the brakes?
It could be a drive shaft out of balance
Could be a tire out of balance or has a flat spot
Could be the preload on the pinion gear is out of whack (although usually the symptoms include noise/grinding when load is applied to gears)
Could also be the pinion angle is wrong (although symptoms of this too is excessive noise/grinding)
An alignment will not help vibration although it is a good idea to at least have it checked.
lol happened awhile ago.Seriously the best thing to do would be as said pop it in neutral when it's doing it, see if it's chassis related. Should be able to tell if it's from the front or rear too.
If it is the chassis you can do this...
If you've never done it find an abandoned road, pop it into neutral when it does it, cut the engine off and listen. That's how i determined my rear bearings were shot.
what does anyone else think?
