A one-off torque arm setup is going to drive up the price of an 8.8 swap, and significantly lower the demand for one.
Most guys (including myself) already have an aftermarket torque arm, which makes buying a rearend that utilizes a different one, tougher to afford.
I'm gonna get my hands on an sn95 8.8 this weekend, and try to come up with a feasible mounting design for the torque arm that requires ZERO welding to the pumpkin. The bracket will be welded together, but will bolt to the housing in various places.
I really like your jig you've built, Ive got one under construction as of right now too.

thanks for the props on the jig, its a bunch of free scrap steel I had around but it works. i agree with the zero welding to the pumpkn idea, i have see weld there fail on street (air baged) trucks. just my prefrance it just isnt trust worthy. i want to build the mount to retain a stock touque arm also, and am planing on building a jig for the mount also.
Has anyone seen one of these torque arms? This is a 8.8 upgrade for a 1990 mazda rx7. I have been thinking of making something like this torque arm for my car when I go to a 8.8.
