Default 6 speed install... help

Hey everyone its been a while since I pulled and installed my t56 and I'm running into an issue. I bolted the trans to the engine and installed them together into the car. My problem is I can't get the clutch fork to connect to the through out bearing. It pops out but bumps the bell housing before I can move it over the through out bearing. Did I miss a step? How do I do this. I feel like a jack *** on this one.

The bearing is "self aligning" not that it works. I just turned the motor over just a bit until the throw out bearing was pretty close to aligned and pushed in the fork. If the half circle indention is not between the studs then it isn't seated.

Ok it feels like the fork is stuck between the trans and the through out bearing. So I need to spin the enging over some to get it to slide over the bearing? Is the bearing like square on the outside to lock onto the fork?

I just turned the crank less than 90 degrees and tired it, keep trying cause that's all it is.

I tried to get the fork barley on or at least ready to slip in before I sucked the trans to the bellhousing. I did also have the stuff outta the car. LT1 T56 install is a PITA.

Ok I got it you guys. The fork was stuck between the trans and the bearing. I had to pull the trans back from the bell housing so I could POP the fork out without hitting the bell housing
