Default Replace opti seal?

From what ie read I should. Makes sense but I can't find any? Is it with a kit or something? I'm on my phone so give me a break but I can't find it. Does anyone know where or a part number preferably from autozone or napa or pep boys or a chain I can go pick up tomorrow ? Also any tips? Been reading on opti installs, already have everything off
Just need to get it back in now

Umm, ignore the above suggestion...

Buy a Fel-Pro timing cover gasket set for LT1. It includes all the seals for the timing cover (crank hub, optispark, waterpump) as well as gaskets for the waterpump and timing cover. Use what you need, as the kit is less than $20...

If you are talking about the internal seal on the optispark cover and cap, best bet is to buy a new cap/rotor if the caps seal is bad, or a whole new AC Delco optispark if the cover seal is bad. Using anything else to seal it is a temporary fix and should be viewed as such, ie, you WILL need to replace the opti at some point in the near future.

If you're talking about the gaskets that mate between the pump and the block, I've always coated each side in spray-gasket - never had any leaks.

The seal in the timing cover does not require sealant.

im going to hijack for a sec, on the back side of the opti there is the "post" that goes inside the camshaft that has 2 "seals" or bushings on it when i removed the opti those things crumbled and fell off, are those needed? or replaceable? my opti works just fine so i dont want to replace the whole thing if i can avoid it.

They are o-rings that help to keep the shaft centered in the cam snout and (presumably) keep vibration down. Keep/replace them. Just go to the parts store with the opti and find an o-ring that fits.

How did you guys determine if it's a pin or spline drive? Not that it makes a lot of difference as both seals are in the kit.

93-94s are spline drive, 95+ are pin-driven. It is very obvious when you look at it.
