and you can take the palladium out of the old one you have and make a miniature arc reactor, could run something small for 100 years, or something really big for 15 minutes.

That being said, Random Tech's catalyst materials are quality metals, work very well and make the cats fairly expensive (platinum, rhodium, palladium, etc.). Expect about $200.00 each. You'll probably want to run a pair of 200 or maybe 300 cell per inch cats. Give them a call. I talked to them and found them to be very helpful when I made my decision. I'll bet they have a customer or two that has passed TX sniffers with a similar setup to yours and can tell you what you'd need to pass, preserving maximum power...

AND... metallic substrate is what you want, not ceramic. A pair of Magnaflow 300 cell/ in. at $95.00 each may end up being your solution. They don't flow as good as RT cats but would work for you.
Great info, thank you.

Called up Magnaflow today and they recomended a California cat, although the tech seemed more interested in application compatability rather than the size of my cam and my particular needs.

The California cats seem to be significantly more expensive than the regulars.

I guess I need to refine my questioning a little bit:

1.) Can a H/C/car with a 226/232 cam pass the Texas sniffer with any form of cat, California or otherwise?
2.) If yes, do I need a Cali cat or a reg. @Gojira, when I browse Summit/Jegs I can't really see the cell amount. How do yo get this information?

Assuming this is the one you are refering too?

You could check and see how much your local exhaust shop would charge to move the cat down after the merge. I have a similer sized cam. 224 230. Passed in TN with one cat (after merge) no problem. I also had my exhaust shop make a pipe i can bolt in place of the cat after i pass each year.
