Almost too old. I was 26 when I'd heard of it and started playing it. Avid FPS fan ever since...

It took me a good minute or two before I realized where the music was coming from lol . I had about 15 browser tabs open from researching some parts last night. I really hope LS1Tech isn't next!

I'm 26 now and remember playing Doom and Wolfenstein 3D quite a bit. You're definitely old. Haha.

On a side not, looks like the site is back up.

X2 or KFlex or V90? (US Robotics or Lucent/Rockwell or 3COM/USR)

Sorry, bad old modem jokes...

AT+MS=k56,0
AT-V90=0

And old modem initialization strings for maximizing the connection. I can't remember any X2 strings- the 2 above are for KFlex and V.90. First one asks the remote terminal to negotiate KFlex @ 53,300; the second says give me V.90 protocol at the handshake or close the connection without handshake...

Playing DNF right now. It's 'meh' but has some funny lines in it.

Ha ha... I knew that but couldn't resist. Worked for a dialup ISP after I quit wrenching in 1999. The entire customer base got bought by Earthlink in early 2002. We went along the coastal region from Kentucky to Mississippi (Duro Communications > CoastalNet). Lots of NC users will remember them east of Kinston.
