Default HELP! MSD digital 6 plus problem

ok, ive got the box all hooked up and everything works except for the ignition retard. My rev limiter and two step work but no retard, im getting 12 volts to the pink wire that activates it. I set the retard at 8 and 9 to see if it worked but the car idles the same. any ideas would be greatly apreciated.

thanks

Does the retard have a activation window, like below 3k it won't work.
I tried to download the Dig 6 pdf, but the msd site doesn't have a working link.

Found this in my digital 6 plus manual:

Note: This retard will only operate
above 2,000 rpm.

That could be why you do not see it at idle.

I thought that was a start retard. Only works when you're cranking it but not sure.

It retards a few degrees when the rpms are under a set value, once again I do not have the manual so I can say exactly what values.

Found it: To ease starting on engines with locked out timing, there is a Start Retard circuit. When set, the timing will
be retarded 20° until the engine reaches over 800 rpm.
Set the cylinder dial, to 2 to bypass the start retard or, place it on 6 to have it pull 20 degrees on startup.

No he was trying to test the dig 6 timing retard at idle, which is not possible due to the window switch I guess.
