LT1 tranny ???

I posted in the trans section and haven't gotten anything so here we are....

I bought a 4l60e trans from a 96/97 model. and it has a 4" number 2 painted on the side of the case. anybody know what it means?? identification mark??

Could be something from the assembly line? My K member has a big V8 painted on it.

Update

hey guys i got the trans torn apart. The trans wasn't shifting into 3/4 and one of the check ***** was stuck in the separator plate. Now it was stuck real good, and i don't know if i can fix it. So question is.... Do i get a transgo sep plate or is there anything better?
