Default Heat Soak Symptons?

Well i took the car out on the weekend to go to a car show about 2hrs away. Got stuck in traffic on the way down with scorching heat and no issues. I head home and get stuck in more bumper to bumper traffic and weather getting even more hotter. I was about half hour from home when i was leaving from a light and got almost through the intersection and just died. I pushed it through and pulled it to the side. Tried to restart it numerous time and wouldnt even try to fire. Let it sit for 5 mins to cool off and a couple more tries i got it going. Was working great for about 15 mins then again it misses and dies out. Pushed it again to get out of the traffic. Did the same thing wouldnt even try to fire so i let it sit again for prob 10 mins. Got it up and running and made it home about 15 mins later without any issues. Car has fuel as i can smell it and has new pump. It has a newish vented opti conversion and ignition switch. Car has run great otherwise for the last 2-3k miles since i put the new motor in and im pretty sure it sounds like icm/coil heatsoak or so im hoping. I have yet to check to see what codes are stored in it but im going to put some washers in behind the bracket to help cool it down.

I think you're probably on the right track to suspect the coil getting hot and doing the spacer mod. If that doesn't fix it I would start checking any and all grounds.

I'm betting that ICM is getting heat soaked and on it's way out. Have it tested!!

Thanks guys im going to check the proper method on shbox how to test a ICM and replace it if shes not up to par. Afterwards going to go out and buy some washers to space it out from the head or relocate it all together.

^ You're on the way. I concur with the others. Coil heatsoak or ICM failure.
