If you're going with the AI 200cc heads, you get a custom grind billet core cam. Why did you choose the 847?

Choose the cam for the heads, not the other way around.

You proved why he had to say it just by asking.

I would do the 200cc AI heads and cam, if money is tight then maybe skip the intake porting, you can get all the valvetrain from them too.

Thanks for the kind words. The reality is that our valve train setup we apply to the GM castings in our 190/200cc CNC work & component packages will handle most any HR lobe/cam etc. It'll still make power with a GM 847, but if you don't already have a cam then you cannot beat simply having something done up for your specific application.

well here is some more detail....currently i just have an lt4 cam hit and bolt ons....years ago the transmission went on me...long story short im just now geeting back into rebuilding my lt1..... my man project with the car is just that have about 400-450 rwhp and a nice look respectful car really .... i ordered the gm847 cam because 1) i am service advisor for a gm dealership and i can get it at cost .. 2) it just kinda fit what im looking for with max lift and duration size... and from what i see it does pretty well ... i am open to options tho... so far on the head the A/I 190's are leading the way .... on the LE stuff ...no comment respectfully

Youll be fine running the 847 with the AI heads.

Bass Ackwards, but it'll "work" fine with AI 190s, AI 200s, LE2's, LE3's, and countless other off the shelf heads like AFRs, Darts, or Trickflows.

Not sure why you are even asking if you already bought a shelf cam and don't have very lofty goals. Hell, even POS heads like Edlebrock or Patriots could probably get you close to 400 through an M6 with an 847.
